Search Smarter With “Similar”
Google adds new feature to “Google: The Search Engine”. Which is aimed to simplify your task of “googling” the information or sites over the Internet.
Gone are the days when we entered a phrase in search window and again we were supposed to search out the useful information form the search engine’s result dump.
This change is because of a new simple and sleek feature “similar”
Let us take an example: Suppose you enter McDonald’s Burger in the search window and as you hit the search button Google presents all sites and web pages related with your query, now this was a cumbersome task to manually decide what is useful and what is not. Need not to worry anymore because the option of searching similar pages is there to help you. Whenever you will search anything, there will be an option to see only the results related to a particular site, phrase or query.

As shown in the picture you will see the word “similar” written next to the link. When you click on it, search is modified and new results or we can say filtered results are displayed as shown in second picture below. On clicking the link “similar” new page is opened which only displays websites of Famous Burger Restaurants.

According to Google staff the “similar” link was available earlier also but it was not visible as they were upgrading this feature. It also displays related pages in the bottom of search page.
This is true that technology solves many problems but while solving the first problem it may create a new problem. I liked the idea of google to help people by providing them new solutions. Google recently made changes in Google Buzz and Gmail also. Google works on making its applications better, convenient and easy by continuously upgrading them that is why Google is loved by everyone students, professionals, retired people and business leaders.
