Virtual Keyboard- New tool on Google Search
Good news for people who wish to work in their Regional Language on internet. After the addition of more languages in Google Transliteration and Emerging of Script Converter, Regional language virtual keyboard is now available on Google Search Engine.
Results of different surveys done by Google showed that people needed to search certain queries in their own language but found them self unable to enter query in search window because of the primary problem of keyboards typing Roman Script characters.
Google’s R&D division presented Virtual Keyboard in following languages:-
Albanian, Arabic, Armenian, Basque, Belarusian, Bosnian, Bulgarian, Catalan, Croatian, Czech, Finnish, Galician, Georgian, Greek, Hebrew, Hindi, Hungarian, Icelandic, Kazakh, Kirghiz, Macedonian, Malayalam, Mongolian, Persian, Polish, Russian, Serbian, Slovak, Slovenian, Swedish, Tatar, Thai, Turkish, Ukrainian, Uzbek.
Working of Virtual Keyboard is very simple. But it works only when user is using google search in any other language than English.
First, a user has to click on the keyboard icon near to search window.
Virtual Keyboard appears on the screen in your previously selected language. (as shown in the picture below)
It is very easy to use. You can either click in the virtual keys in screen or press the corresponding keys on your physical Roman Script keyboard.
After pressing search results are displayed in your selected language
Another important thing is if user is unable finds any special character missing form the virtual keyboard then he has to just press virtual keyboard’s Alt+Ctrl and “up arrow” keys to see more characters.
Virtual keyboard is movable it can be placed anywhere on the screen. Simply click the blue bar at the top of the keyboard and drag the keyboard to another position.
