Social Networking no doubt gives you freedom of speech but this freedom could cost you your job. We posted some 10 cases of people losing jobs because of their objectionable facebook status updates.

One more such case came into light.

Ashley Johnson lost her job because of calling a couple cheap on facebook. Reported Guardian

Ashley, worked as a waitress in Brixx Pizza Restaurant, one day a couple entered into the restaurant and ordered some food. Beside eating food they spent three long hours chatting with each other, this made Ashley and other staff to keep the place open for One Extra Hour. When the couple left they tipped her only 5$. Such a small tip added more to her frustration.

She dumped her frustration on facebook calling the couple “cheap”
Few days later she learned from her boss that she is fired for violating a company policy which bans workers for speaking low about customers and restaurant online.

Ashley Johnson apologized to restaurant and now she is on a job hunt. We hope she will not repeat her mistake again at her new job.

Freedom of Speech should be used wisely at least on social networks which is open for all.
