Now Unlike Pages On Facebook

Posted by : on May 8, 2010 – 8:45 am5 Comments

Few weeks ago Facebook made Two Major Changes by replacing “Become a fan” button with “Like” button on the “Pages” and Linking User’s Profile information with other relevant pages and people. These moves were highly criticized by users and social media experts all over the internet.

This morning Facebook has introduced “unlike” button on the pages and facebook badges which will allow user to disassociate from a particular page he may not like, find unsuitable or uninteresting.

Not a great move by Facebook for page owners who always try to increase their fan base. Prior it was not so handy to disconnect with the fan pages. Unlike button will make easier way for users to put their negative sentiments.

However, unlike button is both accepted and unaccepted, social networking is always encouraging users to connect and now, even disconnect.

How do you take this “not so controversial” step of “unlike” taken by facebook?

This is a very clever and smart step taken to increase activity on pages and to bring out creativity on the part of owners intended to create a healthy competition.

Its a smart step. Previously one have to click on 'Like' once again to unlike that page. Now instead of 'Like' there is 'Unlike'…
But I don't find it much interesting…. There is only 'Like' button everywhere…no 'Unlike' button… :P

That's right Aakar, I call it another brainy social networking strategy. That's the first time I saw a social networking site encouraging “disconnection” . A big blow on facebook page creators face, now comes a real challenge of keeping our followers happy or they will just “unlike” it ;)
