[How To] Block Users On Your Facebook Page

If you are an owner of a Facebook Page you might have come across a number of people who put irrelevant links/comments on your updates. That becomes a big problem when you have a large number of fans and it’s beyond control to monitor everyone. The best thing to do is to “block/ban” such users.

It’s a matter of few clicks and can be done by following either of these methods:

Method I:

1. Click the “Flag” link exactly below the comment of the user whom you want to block.

2. Click “Report” link.

3. Select appropriate Reason: Spam/Advertisement/Attacks

4. Next, select the “Banning” checkbox.

5. “Submit”.flag

Method II:

1. Click on “See All” link in “x people like this” box.

2. Look for the user’s name.

3. Click the “cross” mark to the right of his name.

4. Select the “Ban Permanently” check box.

5. Click “Remove”.

The user will be permanently removed from your page and will not be able to re-join the page. So you can relax and keep your page neat and clean. It’s really easy to block a user but I didn’t find an option to unblock a user, in case I need to that. If you know how to unblock a user, drop in a comment.

    First method is easier and perfect.

    But if your page has thousands of fan, it is difficult to find a specific user from list. So second method will kill some time in that case.

    How to Unban a user : 

    1. Click on “Like this” link in “x people like this” box.
    2. Then click on the people (which is at the top of the box opened by clicking on Like this link)
    3. You will be options like Pages, admins, banned, etc.
    4. Click on banned5. Look for the user’s name.

    6. Click on Unban

    We banned permanently a user of our page and all he had to do was to ‘Like’ us again and was able to re-post comments. Although he hadn’t actually posted any further comments we just banned him permanently again. Not sure if he’ll try re-liking us or not but permanent doesn’t seem to be permanent. Any ideas?

    I cannot use Method I, because my reason for banning this user is not obnoxious posts. Method II, however, does not seem to be working for me. When I click to view all likes, I can’t find this user. I clicked Crtl+F and searched…other people with her first name come up, but not her. I know for a fact that she is still a user on this page, and we really need to remove her. Any suggestions?

    the worst part would be that…this doesnt always work. i think starting last year. when you block someone they are blocked but in 1 hour…the users relike your page. i have contacted facebook about this issue but sadly nothing is being done.

    this is happening to alot of users including me. for some reason Facebook will not permanently  ban users but will ban them for only 1 hour. it gets so annoying and after submitting countless forms to facebook. they will not fix it

    Ugh… I have a competing business page that keeps “liking” all of my status updates (so my fans see their page name), but they don’t like” the page is there anyway to ban them?
