And The Oscars Goes To.. Slumdog Millionaire!

How can we keep silent on this day of Oscar Awards? Nor social networking site orkut’s users are, Slumdog got 8 Oscars, Slumdog Millionaire ,The film tells the story of Jamal Malik, an 18 year-old orphan from the slums of Mumbai, who is about to experience the biggest day of his life. With the whole nation watching, he is just one question away from winning a staggering 20 million rupees on India’s Who Wants to be a Millionaire?

But when the show breaks for the night, police arrest him on suspicion of cheating; how could a street kid know so much? Desperate to prove his innocence, Jamal tells the story of his life in the slum where he and his brother grew up, of their adventures together on the road, of vicious encounters with local gangs, and of Latika, the girl he loved and lost. Each chapter of his story reveals the key to the answer to one of the game show’s questions.

Well, that’s a small introduction of one of the biggest hit of a movie based on Mumbai Slums directed by a British director Danny Boyle. Today, Slumdog passes successfully through the most genuine, Academy Awards grabbing not 1,2,3 but 8 oscars for :

Another rare thing happen on 81st Oscars is Two Indians A.R. Rahman and Resul Pookutty honored with the prestigious award.

Now, it’s obvious to see some great celebrations from Indian camp of orkut where many communities related to Slumdog, A.R Rahman and Resul Pookutty reacted with utmost happiness and surprise. We looked into some communities on orkut having an online celebration of Slum Dog’s success.
