Awakening Aftermath of Mumbai Terror Attack- Udaipur Reports

by zazo on December 1, 2008

This happened, when a SMS hit a cell phone by mistake. It was a message been sent by someone on a wrong number asking people to forward message to 10 more people to pay a tribute to the martyrs of the nation, and pray for them who went away from us during the terror attack on Mumbai. The girl who received the message was already hurt and frustrated because of whatever happened and she replied that praying won’t help now; we need to do something else as well. Another reply came from the other end, asking, you tell me then what to do, and the process continued. The result was a small ceremony held near a beautiful lake, where around some 200 people lighted candles in respect and memory to the martyrs and an organization formed on the spot when some young people engaged in a heated discussion, on what to do next.

The event is from a small town of this country India, known as city of lakes, Udaipur. I am one of those 200 people who attended this ceremony and was one among those early 5-6 people who never even expected 10 people to be there .On the contrary, people were really willing to come up , and anger filled inside came out when one among the attendants asked , that this was a good move, but what after this? Will only paying tribute help? What are you people planning to do next? I saw a girl stepping back and saying I am here to do something next, who all are with me? Came out from the crowd 3 gentlemen and joined her and raised there hand and say,”We are with you”. Another one said ok, anyone else, and in a minute all the hands present raised high in the sky and joined the move. Their was a paper sheet being placed on which people were asked to write their thoughts and all of a sudden that sheet was filled up, where people wrote their names and gave their contact nos. and this was for those who want to make an organization against terrorism, against corruption, against the evil system, against the discrimination, and against all that which was responsible for this life taking attack.

Before we were about to reach the venue, we had prepared our self that in a small town like this, we wont get any support and people might laugh on us, or may be, they make fun of this whole event, but then too we were determined to take at least this small step because we were sure that at least we will get two more like us, and that will be the way to increase the participants and move further. When people were writing their names we were knowing that may be after today no one from them will respond when we will call them, but that at least gave us a moral support that now we, the mass is trying to be aware , to give answer , to fight back. We want to start from a simple example, that do not take 2 toffees from a shopkeeper, when he says, i don’t have a change of Rs2.

The boy who started all this is a second year student Zurain Khan. Along with him were his friends Shahbaaz(2nd year), Rachit and Aayush(1st year). Girl who was the one who got a message by mistake, as a wrong number was Arwa, a 22 year old teacher at a private school. These four boys were determined and, to make sure that their event do not gets spoil because of any legal matter, they went and took a legal written permission. Joined them another group of three girls from the same college, Priyati, Shurvi and Varsha, all 1st year students. My aim of mentioning this here is to give a message to my readers that, youth is not always as we think, they are not angry emotional fools, but are a sensitive chunk of people who do not always, shout and create mess. These young lads showed and set a good example, that people, talk sensitive and use brains and wisely work out and learn from your mistakes and it’s the time of taking action. Enough of sitting back and hearing and then returning back to our everyday schedule. If we do not rise up, and unite today and speak up, then it will be far out of reach, because we are already too late.

Zurain announced on the set, that today we form an association, which I name as Yong India Organization and we will make sure that we work in the way all determined. Zurain however insisted to give his message to my readers which were, “we did all this to show to those families of the martyrs that we all are with them and they are not alone. Do not let them feel that they took a wrong decision by sending their son to serve the nation. People I appeal , that at least show these mothers that you are proud of their son and where ever you see them , give them that special attention and respect which they deserve”.

And it all do not ended but started with the formation of small group, there itself which decided Orkut to make a platform for them , form a community there and work further. And you must be thinking, why this article here on Orkutheroes. Then the answer to this is, “this is just a step, a contribution from our side to place a community already on orkutheroes, even before it has started to give an encouragement to those young lads, that even, we are with them and we all want to reply back to terrorism and bring the change within.

I will update this article with the link of the community as soon as the community is formed on Orkut and will ask all of you here that, all those who think that even a small step can be a beginning of a big victory, then please join the community and give your contribution.

Keep up the spirit people!

i do doubt you will not be able to continue for a long time let us see what happens after one year. try something else.
Learn something from israel.

Tara December 1, 2008 at 5:45 pm

Thanks Aditya.
First of all let me tell you, that it might happen that what you doubt comes true, but one has to at least give it a start. The change has to be within us first of all.If this time here it do not works out , we’ll start agian, one day we’ll succeed i am sure. And if you think, we should try something else, why don’t you take that initiative dear friend? We’ll be obliged…

and you said , learn from Israel, what to learn from them? to kill? do you behave like an animal with animals? then whats the difference between them and us?
I wish , you could have encouraged being a citizen of this nation , at least if you yourself can not do anything.

Hi All,

First of all i like to wholeheartedly Salute the Brave soldiers who fought for the safety of the people of the Motherland India.

All that happened in Mumbai was a very Cowardly Act by the terrorists. But because of the hillarious work by our soldiers, this attack was defended very bravely. But unfortunately some of our heroes lost their lives while completing this mission.

Its now Time to Wake up and Be in a union to fight against Terror and its followers.

Please spread the Word……….WE ARE UNITED…………..
