Language is the mode of communication for all. Be it we humans or animals, all of us have a language to communicate. We can even understand language of our pet animals to some extent, like you understand when your dog needs a walk or your cat feels hungry but what you do when your pet wants to say something else than usual?

Your doggy keeps barking, the kitten keeps mewing and you are annoyed..!! That’s the place where a bridge needs to be built and Google has done it the correct way.

What is it?

Google has launched the new “Google Translate for Animal” app in the Android Market. This wonderful application allows you to record animal sounds and has powerful features to translate that sound to about 52 human languages..!! Translate for Animals encourages greater interaction and understanding between men and animals.

How it Works:

The application recognizes and transcribes words and phrases that are common to a species, like cats for example.  With animal translation you can finally understand why your dog loves to pee on your neighbor’s wall or why he always bark at someone wearing leather hat.

Development:

To develop this “Simply Amazing” App Google has worked closely with many of the world’s top language synthesis teams, and with leaders in the field of animal cognitive linguistics, including senior fellows at the Bodleian Library in Oxford.

The technology isn’t perfect yet, so you may discover some translations that don’t make perfect sense. The algorithms are always improving.

Get It:

You can find the steps to get this app here: http://www.google.co.uk/intl/en/landing/translateforanimals/

Or simply search for “Translate for Animals” on Android Market. Install it.

To remove Translate for Animals, go to Settings > Applications > Manage Applications > Animal Translate and select “Uninstall”.

we couldn't get human speech recognition to perfection and now google is on its way for creating the same for animals. Thats simply a #fail for me.
