What an idea to convince people so confidently for their own opinion. Simply put, I bet I will….and see the results. That’s what many Facebook group creators are doing since long and also getting success in winning their bet, either, you hate someone or love or you just want to make it happen. The way ‘I bet’ became popular on Facebook Groups, I guess no other word was ever used so much to create online groups.

I bet I can find 1,000,000 people who hate cancer – Is a group with a reason, and it’s not surprising for me that the group creator has already got the members above his “bet” expectations. With more than 1,665,096 members, this group is worth joining if you really hate cancer and I am sure we all hate it. The members are all friendly and many of them have experienced cancer in their family members or themselves.

I bet I can still find 1,000,000 people who dislike George Bush! – This group was created on 15th September 2007 when George W Bush was the then president of United States of America. More than 960,749 people have already joined this group. The creator has expanded his bet limit from 2 million to 5 million by creating another group with same motive of bringing all who dislike George Bus, online together. The second group has already reached to 92,915 members. OrkutHeroes.com has nothing to do with George Bush but let’s see why these 90k people don’t like the ex-President?

I bet females on facebook can reach 1 million before males do!!! – It’s a group under the category ‘Organizations’, but I find it a fun loving group with no serious intention. Well whatever category it’s under, this group is running a blind race with the same group created for males on facebook. While competing with males, the facebook females have already reached 959,133 members and the discussions are mainly female oriented.
By scanning through the discussion forum I found that most of the females have joined this group only to beat males.
I bet I can find 1,000,000 people who support gay rights – This group is to support gay rights and it encourages discussions related to the subject with some strict rules to follow. With 451,712 this group is going well enough to reach its bet soon, but not so soon.
I Bet I Can Find 1,000,000 People Who Just Want Peace – I wonder why this group is here on #5 position. But this doesn’t mean that only 402,540 of facebook want Peace. Definitely no. The owner wrote a small piece of note that why he created this group “I got this idea from the group with a similar name concerning Christians. It seems to me that what we need in this world is less division and more union. So this group is for everyone who wants to live in a peaceful world, and is trying daily to create such a place. This goal is universal, and conforms with all religions, so come one and come all. Honestly, who doesn’t want to have peace at their doorstep?”

I bet males on facebook can reach 1 million before females do – Same chronicle as above but slightly…No, it’s actually very weak and frail than the facebook females group. Males in this group of Facebook are just 365,567, but the discussion forum of males is more active than the female group. I think while facebook males were busy playing their “forum games” women were concentrating on only beating them with more and more members joining. Males need to focus.
I bet people from the UK can reach 1 million before USA do! – Another group created with the main intention to beat the rival group of USA, though the creator is still far from his bet but he somehow successfully tried to make this group for people from UK to talk about their internal issues and subjects, though most of the posts in the forum are just spam. With 267,762 Brits this group is getting good number of joining every day. However, not everyone is happy to join this group, like

I Bet I Can Find 1,000,000 People Who Love Kareem – I am seriously confused with this group that which Kareem they are talking about, I know only one Kareem who is known as Kareem Abdul Jabbar the famous Basketball player of U.S but there is nothing written about it even though 118,867 people have joined this group. Yes, it’s under the category ‘just for fun’- totally pointless.
I bet I can find 1,000,000 people who don’t care Michael Phelps smoked weed – He was captured in the camera of journalists, smoking weed and came in the news internationally on 1st Jan 2009. Well, who cares? 109,034 people don’t care if 14 times Olympic gold medalist smoked weed. Here I want to share with you, the description written by the group owner which says the story of this facebook group.

I bet I can find a million people that hate Tokio Hotel – A German Band which is not liked by 100,464 facebook members have many same name groups and facebook pages but this one is with the highest number of members.
I bet I can find 1,000,000,000 people who dislike Silvio Berlusconi too! – 95,094 dislike The Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi. The group creator is still distant from his bet, may be because of less Italians on Facebook? Or may be something else.
I bet I could find 1,000,000 people who hate homework – I am happy to see that there are still many school goers who don’t hate their homework, maybe that’s why only 26,425 have joined this group till now, but on the other side if you see the discussion forum you will find lot of activities going on. With zero spam this group makes some sense, unfortunately its outlying from its bet but I love the enthusiasm people have, they are less concerned about the aim of the creator and more focused on their passion for music and musical instruments.
I BET 100,000 MEMBERS WILL JOIN THIS GROUP FOR NO REASON – Small strength of 12, 376 members, and the group description say everything clearly. “Asking you to join this group is TOTALLY unnecessary because you already know what to do. I bet you think the title is funny, and you will invite your friends to join for a laugh”. It could do more if the creator had opened the discussion forum.
I Bet I Can Find 1,000,000 People That Smoke Marijuana – I wonder how such groups exist in the social network like facebook, still the creator managed to make 3,152 people join who smoke this drug. And one day the bet will also reach to its point of 1 million. I added this group in the list to get it banned! Not to promote it.
