Robin George, Robin George- Entrepreneur, We will try to know how this young businessman established his own corporation, what is his aim in life ? And how was the journey being an entrepreneur till now?

Robin, you are heartily welcome to this interview.

Dear Zazo , I am really happy to receive your invitation. Thank you very much for making me as a part of this precious community.

It’s my pleasure Robin, Firstly; may I know your background? Your birth place, education and family?

I am Robin George, Born and brought up in punalur a beautiful village in kollam district in Kerala, I am in a small family father, mother and one younger sister. My parents gave priority to education for us .My sister studying now. From my childhood my ambition is to become a pilot but my family financial status is not that much high level it’s a midsize family we cannot able to pay the huge fees of pilot training. but I have a strong aim to be an aviator
I completed my schooling in KMHS nilambur and I did my +2 in SVHSS Palemadu (malappuram district) after that I did my Diploma in HEITS InfoTech Perumbavoor after this one year diploma course I got a job in INFOMAX Eranakulam as a management trainee I worked their only 6 months that time I got a selection in Indian Navy as an airman trainee, after few months I got selection in PAT test (pilot aptitude test) conducted by Pioneer aviation based in Australia I joined there and I completed my ground training in Chennai with the financial help of my parents and friends after that I got a scholarship from my flying school to do further training I got a part time job also there. In 2006 at the age of 19 I started one air charter company based in Chennai named Elite Aircharters my capital fund is only 2 lakh rupees taken from a money lender.

In 2007 November we started one booking office in Kerala and now our registered office in Bangalore and hanger in jakkur airport Bangalore and operating 3 aircrafts .and now I am doing MBA joint course in ALL SAINT’S college Bangalore and doing CPL training also.

After doing so many courses and training, normally any youth like you will try to make his future secure and probably choose job as a better and safe option. Why you decided and made a company?

Yes. I did so many courses but my aim is one I want to become a star in aviation industry. If I think just like a normal youth I will get my dream position may be after a long time and that’s not sure .but I have a clear rout to my aim and I have confidence to face all troubles on the way. Lots of people flying in chartered choppers in India. I studied a lot about aviation industry in India. The people they are using charter flights increasing in every year I know if I start one company for charter service I can utilize it. And I don’t like to work in fixed schedules I like to take challenges in my life I am enjoying it.

Robin, what are those problems you have faced till now in setting up your air charter business? Is there any particular incident you would like to share?

Yes sure, first time I approached lots of people in aviation industry like pilots and aviation professionals but they don’t encouraged me my age is the problem everyone anxious about what he could do at this age he cant do anything. But these negative replays did not effect my attitude .I started my company and i got some charter flights also. once I requested for a police clearance certificate to landing an aircraft they rejected without any reason because influence of some people I lost a big charter work because of this .some unknown people gave a petition to police against me and my company police enquired about us and proved that the complaint is worthless and its from some jealousy people. but during the enquiry time I suffered lot. Some peoples making anonymous calls to my home and my company staffs homes and threatening. our general manager and some officials resigned from the company because of these continuous problems I suffered a lot from some people and some companies ..

How did you come up from these hurdles? What was that which was holding your confidence and will power?

Because of my aim. My life is dedicated for aviation .I doesn’t have any other option to choose. Do or die to achieve my goal in my life. That decision make me more powerful to overcome all problems on the way to my aim..

Among hundreds and thousands of well educated youths, majority of them wants to start or establish their own business but most of them ended with only as a dream. The biggest problem is finance or enough capital to invest.

What is your opinion or advice to them? Is there is anyway or simple rules to be follow, if they wish to start a new venture?

If anybody having dreams take that as a challenge and make a burning decision from heart. You need to have a clear vision of what you want to achieve. Then look the dream may be that was so far away from you. Then u tries to find the way to reach your destination.” The journey of thousand miles starts with a single step” it is a famous Chinese proverb .do like that… Start your journey .don’t think the journey was easy. Only think success every success story starts with big dreams …..Not big steps……start from small Be passionate with what you do. . Success in business is all about patience and hard work, which can only be attained if you are passionate and crazy with your tasks and activities. Never consider the possibility of failure. Every successful entrepreneur works hard, hard and hard. No one achieves success just by sitting and staring at the wall every single day. Working hard will be easy if you have a vision, clear goals, and are passionate with what you do. You do not need to be a MBA degree holder or PhD graduate to succeed in your own business. In fact, there are a lot of entrepreneurs who did not even finish secondary education. Studies show that most self-made millionaires have average intelligence. Nonetheless, these people reached their full potentials achieved their financial and personal goals in business because they are willing to learn. To succeed, you must be willing to ask questions, remain curious, interested and open to new knowledge. This willingness to learn becomes more crucial given the rapid changes in technologies and ways of doing business. No one said that the road to success is easy. Put your hard work. Remember, if you persevere, nothing can stop you.” Self-discipline is the key to success. The strength of will to force yourself to pay the price of success – doing what others don’t willing to do, going the extra mile, fighting and winning the lonely battle with yourself and take power from the negatives..

Robin, who is your idol or a person you always follow? and why?

Nobody..I don’t have any idol in my life.. its my life and I am the architecture of my life..

What is your biggest fear in life?

Earth without sky…that is my biggest fear…

What do you think about the economy of India? Overall growth is increasing day by day but nothing much effected to poor. How you will define the situation in your own words? any opinion?

..I don’t have much knowledge in economic problems in India but i think major economic problem is rapid increase in population .industrial and service sectors do not develop in proportion to the growth of population. Most people depend on agriculture .due to the increase of cost of the production, agriculture is becoming unprofitable besides, there is no increase in the employment opportunities in other sectors and this creates more unemployed problems. Lots of financial plans and loans like PMRY ( Prime Minister’s Rozgar Yojana) available for unemployed people to start a business or start any other profitable activities. If people have ideas to utilize these types of opportunities they can develop their situation.

How much competition you feel in aviation industry, mainly the private services like you have?

In India near around 98 non scheduled operators permit holders and they are having more than 200 aircrafts also .Centre for Asia Pacific Aviation (CAPA) predicts that domestic traffic will grow at 25 per cent to 30 per cent a year until 2010 and international traffic will grow by 15 percent. According to data from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), the number of companies that have been approved for non-scheduled operators permits (NSOP) by the ministry of civil aviation this year has jumped to more than 30. So competition is strong but the number of passengers they are using charter aircrafts in increasing in every year.

What are your hobbies and passion? or how you like to spend your free time?

Flying in a small 2 seater aircraft (zenair CH601) that’s my passion and searching and collecting different types of aircrafts details. And I like to walk alone in town and I like to sleep in bus while travelling.

Do you have any message to give to our readers, your friends and well wishers?

time is money so don’t waste your time. Design your future .take good decisions. Achieve your dreams.

Thank You Robin
Knowing and talking to a person like you was a delight. I am sure our readers will get great inspiration from you and I wish you the best for your future and all the endeavors you make in your life.
God bless….

Thanks once again for taking out time Robin.

I thank you also, all the best to you, I’m very happy to be part of this.
