After TrialPay and Peanut Labs, Rock You is going to be the third partner of Facebook to power Facebook Credits, offers and surveys with its 119 million dollars. It is not clear that what would be the exact role of Rock You but it is anticipated to help in some form of ad network for Facebook Credits. RockYou offers cross-platform video distribution, custom application integration, innovative targeting, and advanced analytic and response tools.
Today Techcrunch posted about Facebook’s expansion of offers integration outside of applications. While Facebook is expanding the opportunities to earn Credits, integration with developers has been limited to a closed set of partners, and it sounds as though it will stay that way for now.
It is too early to say anything about success of credits as a lot of tension is growing among developers. Zynga is going to move away and start its own social networking website. This will definitely drive away the users from Facebook.
By looking at present set of circumstances it is difficult to predict the profitability of Facebook deal signed by Rock You.
