Tdash.org is a simple and nice browser based client for twitter which helps you organize your tweeting more effectively.

In a very first look I found it too simple and boring, but as I started exploring tdash, the features are really impressive and best to organize my twitter activities.

I would like to share it features, specialties and way to use.

Before that let me tell you that there is no need of registration on tdash, you can directly use tdash from your twitter username and password, it shortens long URLs with bit.ly

So let’s start with start!

You will notice a Left Column with the following selections

Left Column Options

1. Friends
2. Lists
3. Folder
4. Toolbox
5. Trends

How it works?

Friends

• Friends is the list of number of people you are following on Twitter
• The number mention in bracket with every username are their no. of tweets you did not read
• If you click a particular username, you will see their number of latest tweets in center of page. As soon as you mark all read the username will disappear from the list till it get refresh again
• All friends are listed alphabetically, it is arranged in a manner that you will not miss any important tweets.
• After selecting a particular tweet, you can easily reply, retweet, fav or quick RT.

Lists

• Lists is the same feature of List on your twitter account, tdash shows the complete lists in same way it shows for “Friends”
• The number you might notice in the bracket is the number of tweets in a particular list you haven’t yet read.
• It works exactly same like Friends
• You can reply, retweet or quick rt. You will see an option of DM only if the username is following you too.

Folders

• Folders contain another 4 different folders like Mentions, Inbox, Outbox and Favorites
• In Mentions you can the whole conversation in “threaded way”, this is best to know how the talk went.
• Inbox and Outbox are your received and sent DMs
• Favorite is the list of all your starred tweets

Tool Box

• This is one very interesting and useful feature to underline the clicks you did lastly.
• A click, to be precise is a link attached with a tweet you find interesting to click.
• This feature will help you to get back to the link you might forget.

Trends

• All top 10 twitter trends listed in this folder.

Multiple Accounts

I won’t miss one more good option in left column, check the top of left column, you will find an option where you can switch to another twitter account. Tdash allows you to enter multiple accounts.

Center or Main area of tdash

From top:

1. That empty white box is an area to update your tweet.
2. Right below it is “fetch now” is just another word of “refresh” this will refresh the data and update all latest tweets after you read or marked it “mark folder as read”
3. Share a picture allows you to upload any pic from your desktop, as soon as you upload, it will directly publish to your twitter account and generate a direct link to it.
4. Next to share a photo, you can list newer or older tweets on top.
5. Next and the last option is “More”. Select the drop down which says “theme” you can choose many good theme to change the look of your tdash dashboard.

Currently running in its beta stage, docs help you socialize your documents by integrating it with your Facebook account.

You don’t need to use unique user id and password for this. Your Facebook account details could be used to login.

Built using Office 2010 – Docs for Facebook provides the best possible document service for the Facebook environment. Here is an overview of the newly launched app and its features.

Home Page

You can have a look at the picture below to see how the landing page of site appears after you are logged in.

The page is preloaded with some interesting and popular documents being shared by its users and on the right side you can find Facebook’s newly launched Social Plugin.

In the top menu you can find options which allow you to create documents (docs), view your docs and also view the docs which your friends have shared with you.

Add Doc

This link comes with a dropdown menu providing you options to upload a Microsoft office document or to create a new Word Document, Excel Spreadsheet or a Powerpoint Presentation.

Word Document

When you click this option, you will find the much similar Office 2007/2010 interface with tabbed menu and sleek look. The file menu lets you save the existing document or you can open it in Microsoft Word installed on your system.

Home menu has the most commonly used formatting and editing tools. Insert menu lets you insert tables, pictures, clip art and links. The insert clip art option searches for clip arts from Microsoft’s Collection.

Under the view menu you can choose from two different view options for your page: Editing view and Reading view. Editing view is the default view which opens up when you start preparing your document and when you click the “finish editing” link you enter the Reading view. Reading view is pretty much similar to the Print Layout (default) view of Microsoft Word.

With the Sharing Options you can select the viewers for your current document. It could be an individual, selected friend, all of your friends or everyone. Also, you could allow all of your friends or an individual to edit your article. Also, you can create a link for your document and post an update directly to your Facebook Wall.

Excel Spreadsheet

This feature comes up with two menus: Home and Insert. Under the Home tab you can find the most commonly used Excel formatting and editing tools. And of course, the interface allows you to have multiple sheets under the same workbook. Also in the lower right corner you can have a look at the number of people working simultaneously on the same workbook. Under the insert tab, you have options to insert table and link.

Sharing options remains the same for all kind of documents. Just like the word document one can find all the features for excel spreadsheet as well.

Powerpoint Presentation

Under the Home tab you can find basic features like add, delete, hide slide and some other text/paragraph formatting options. With Insert option you can add a picture, smart art or a link.

The View tab provides you with three different presentation views viz. editing view, reading view and slide show along with a Notes (Show) View.  When you insert a new slide you can choose a layout from the existing to set.

One thing that might surely disappoint you is the lack of Transition and Presentation effects. No, presentation could be so effective without them.

Just similar to word and excel documents you can find the sharing options here as well.

My Docs

Under this link you can browse all your uploaded and created documents. You can choose from a List view and Thumbnail view as per your convenience.

Friends Docs

With this option you can view all the documents shared by your friends with you.

Undoubtedly, this could prove to be a great application for socializing all your documents. But will this app remains limited to Facebook?  Or its limiting to facebook will emerge as a power of Microsoft Docs in front of Google Docs?

Twitter CEO Evan Williams announced the acquisition of Atebits on the official Twitter Blog. Tweetie will be renamed as “Twitter for iPhone” and will be made free within few weeks. Currently, it costs $2.99. He also announced that Loren Brichter, creator of Tweeetie, would also join the mobile team at Twitter.

We’re thrilled to announce that we’ve entered into an agreement with Atebits (aka Loren Brichter) to acquire Tweetie, a leading iPhone Twitter client. Tweetie will be renamed Twitter for iPhone and made free (currently $2.99) in the iTunes AppStore in the coming weeks. Loren will become a key member of our mobile team that is already having huge impact with device makers and service providers around the world. Loren’s work won the 2009 Apple Design Award and we will eventually launch Twitter for iPad with his help.

Williams also mentioned about the launch of an official Twitter for iPad app with the help of Loren.

Notably, it will be interesting to see how this acquisition affects the unofficial Twitter apps developers such as TweetDeck, Seesmic, or HootSuite.

Now, with this new constrain an application could not publish an attachment or an action link and has to keep the message 420 characters or less. For the update to appear as “Status” update, the above conditions must be fulfilled. The status update appears at the top of the user’s profile and on the Friends > Status Updates page, as well as in the stream (Wall and News Feed) itself. If it includes an attachment or action link, the post gets treated like a regular stream story, and not a status update, so it appears only in the stream.

It seems well to chose an arbitrary number for limiting the updates. Let’s see how changes appear in the updates by applications and what different look does it get to deliver the stuff.

This exciting feature enables the user to search a location without typing a word. It would be of a great use for starters, this newly added Search By Voice for all BlackBerry devices lets you search simply by pressing and holding the green “call” button, speak your search, and your results would appear on the screen without the need of typing a word. Currently supported languages include multiple English accents and Mandarin Chinese.

Google Buzz
Google Buzz for mobile also makes its debut on BlackBerry phones in Google Maps 4.0 on many phones and currently supports 40 languages. Personalized Search Suggestions.

The BlackBerry version now provides personalized search suggestions from your maps.google.com search history. To use this feature you need to sign in to your Google Account and make sure that Web History feature is enabled.
Signing in to your Google Account also synchronizes starred items between maps.google.com on your computer (My Maps > Starred items) and phone (Menu > Starred Items).

Many other new features like Google Labs, Local Business Center and Report a problem have also been added with 4.0

To get started, install the latest version of Google Maps 4.0 for BlackBerry by going to m.google.com/maps in your BlackBerry’s Internet Browser. The update for BlackBerry Enterprise Server administrators and users, including support for BlackBerry OS 5.0 phones, is available here.

Using these settings you can select people you want to follow, then you can have control over people following you and your connected sites. Buzz allows you to show/hide the list of your followers and followings on your public profile which can also be changed using these settings. Around 60000 orkut users are using this application in their orkut profiles. It’s not very complicated application to use, as soon as you will select Luveria in your orkut profile, you will find it on your application section, just click it and you will land into this mini social networking inside orkut. The main and only features you will notice are Search Users, My Messages, My Profile, Add favorites and Invite friends.

You can “Search Users” according to their gender and age, you can send and receive personal messages from other users, “Add Favorite” is an option where you can add any user to your favorite list and a small message box will come asking the reason why you want to add the person in your favorite, the reason will not get disclosed to the person you are tagging, but you can inform the user about your activity, that’s optional. You can edit “My Profile” section with all your details including, age, location, and marital status, a small personal tag line which is to describe yourself in short or fill “About me” section for detail description. The last option is to “Invite friends” to join this application, there are two ways of inviting, either by pasting a link which will appear as soon as you click “invite friends” or just click next option which says “send message” in both way you can ask your friends to join “Luveria”.

All over, its simple and fine application to use. But, it need more features to use. Application developers these days focusing on how they can make user addicted to their application. However, I crossed my teenage life but I am sure that love and dating is bit off-topic these days, that’s my personal opinion. However, luveria is adding.
