Last week I did some brain storming on How to keep your child safe on facebook by following some 50 points. I, as a father of a fast growing toddler, have some experience that children always want to feel grownup more than their real age and their level of maturity. We all are aware of this fact that social networking today is something which should be taken seriously if we have children who love to be on internet most of their time.

Social Networking is not bad for children but precautions and awareness are two main unavoidable concerns to make your child use social networking websites for improving their knowledge, making good friends, learning good things from others and most importantly, be safe.

I don’t know what do you think about Facebook.com personally and that’s not my point of concern here but if you are looking for more options to join or make your child join a social network where he /she can play entertaining games, learn how to be creative and have some fun with other same aged children then here are some social networking and online communities which you may like to try out for your child.

Before registering to any website listed below, I highly advise you to go through their Terms and Conditions thoroughly.

If someone asks me, who is my Idol then the answer, truly and from the bottom of my heart will be:”My Mother”. We all (my sister, my wife and my 1 and a 1/2 yrs. old son) call her Mamma. Mamma is not only my idol but my strength in any tough situation, my best friend and my sweet, short old lady too. I dedicated this article to my dear mother who taught me everything perfectly to become a man of honor, a man of principles and a man of strong faith.

To add little more about Mamma, I want to tell you that she started her first and only job as a teacher in government run school since she was 19 year old, now she is going to touch 60 and still she is teaching. She became widow when me and my sister were too young to understand her pain and she got ready once again to face this world all alone and for both of us and she did it greatly and successfully. Few years back she was diagnosed with breast cancer and now with the blessing of God Almighty she is healthier than ever. May she live long and healthy, Ameen!.

In this article I have listed 20 best Mommies of the world who blog, These mommies are close to their children like all mommies of the world but the only difference is, these mommies are credited of creating long lasting, friendly, healthy and strong online communities of Mothers by their respective blogs. I am very well aware of the fact that there are hundreds of mommy blogs doing great but I have my own limitations, resources and strength to read and review as many mommy blogs as I can and finally I came up with this list of 20 Super Mommies And Their Super Blogs.

I in no way claim my list perfect, and all blogs are listed randomly and not according to their positions in numbers, so please don’t take it as top 20 blogs.

…..

The Busy Mom is fostering her blog since May 2003 while bringing up her 3 busy kids and at the same time taking care of her loving busy hubby, I guess I am right? It’s definitely not easy to do so many things in such an easy way. I wonder how much energy Busy Mom has, to do so much all alone. Busy Mom writes everything going around her busy life, her home, her kids and she not only blog but she tweet, she is on facebook and she loves to share pics on flickr too. It won’t be wrong to say her “Busy Social Media Mom”.

MommyBlog.com is one of the most beautiful gifts a husband has ever presented to her wife. The name of the lucky lady and the author of this blog is Kristjana and her loving husband is known as Casey. They have two sweeties and one doggie to make a happy go lucky family. Mommyblog revolves around the life of great mommy Kristjana and her family. It could be an inspirational and more importantly a useful resource for many mommies on internet out there. If you don’t find Kristjana blogging then expect Casey her husband to make a post to update her blog. What a dedicated and responsible blogger!

TheDiaperDiaries.net is authored by a mother of 3 angels and a wife of a loving husband, I found this blog more a community of many mommies discussing on their day to day life, interests and hobbies. The blog says “Always Loaded; sometimes full of crap” but I didn’t notice anything crap anywhere on Diaperdiaries.net. Very catchy skills of writing which will make you stick to read the full post of the mommy. Certainly a fully loaded blog with various subjects including Marriages, Food, Family, Motherhood, Books and Deals. Diapersdiaries.net is simply awesome.

She started blogging as a hobby now turned into her thriving business. Well, why not. After all Christine have 6 beautiful subjects to blog. Yes! She is blessed with 6 children, out of which 1 is a sweet little princess. FromDatesToDiapers.com is one of the most popular blog among social media mommies and other mom bloggers. The blog is full of interesting posts and activities, from Christine’s favorite recipes to her remarkable and noble thoughts about parenting, friendship, life, prayer and petition. There is a feel of happy life going around in fromdatestodiapers.com.

It worked well and here is the output: amommystory.blogspot.com. Christina is a proud mommy behind this beautiful blog and of 3 beautiful children she has. Christina is also a trained labor and delivery nurse. A Mommy Story will give you variety of rich content. Obviously more focused on parenting, child care, family and life but she also reviews products on another blog amommystoryreview.blogspot.com.

The blog is an unforgettable experience for a lazy reader like me who has 100s of blogs to read per day but Karen’s ultimate writing skills kept me busy reading her sentiments, feelings and interesting posts.Miscmom.com stands for Miscellaneous Adventures of an Aussie Mum. A writer by profession, Karen has beautifully chosen her most unforgettable days in her own words, that’s what Miscmum.com is all about.

Theta Mom is something more than Alpha and Beta Mom. In heather’s own words Theta Moms, The True, Authentic Moms. [The-T-A] We are authentic because we live authentic lives. The science of analyzing and defining the new “normal” that is a direct result of having children. Let me ask another question? What is Mommyologist? Then check this cool blog Mommyologist.com to get the answer of my second question. I always thought how challenging it is to be a mom when I used to see my mother. My judgment became more strong when I saw my wife becoming a mother, but mommyologist.com says it’s wonderful to be a mother, well no issue in that but how? That’s what you can learn from Mommyologist.com. Author is obviously a mother, learning from her own experiences, enjoying it and sharing it on her blog. That’s awesome, that’s simply superb. Visit it and you will enjoy every bit of it.

Online dating, photo sharing, fun, entertainment, forum games and visiting profiles are some very common and usual activities on any social networking site, but some people think other way and so do Priyanka a married woman and a mother of a “dashing” boy, Priyanka thought to make a place for other daddies and mommies like her on orkut.com by creating a community dedicated to Indian parents, Indian Parenting is a strong community of more than 2k active parents discussing on every issues related to child upbringing, in this interview session we invited Priyanka to share more about her sweet and equally strong community and her personal life and thoughts.

Welcome Priyanka!

Thank you so much for inviting me

It’s a pleasure for us, Please throw some light on your family background and profession.

Thanks Zazo, I am staying in a Joint Family in Bangkok and mother of a cute boy. I am working as a computer programmer

Priyanka how an Indian Parenting came up? What is the objective and main purpose?

When I joined Orkut, I looked for a parenting community but could not find one.
So I decided to create Parenting community myself, i invited a lot of parents and started healthy discussions which created interest in many young parents and expected mothers. I may be the owner of Indian Parenting but this community is growing because of each and every parent there.

As a parent yourself how much Indian Parenting benefited you?

A lot, Indian Parenting Community has changed my views and I have learned a lot through others experience.

Priyanka why you chose orkut to made this community? As your orkut profile shows that you are professionally learned web designer so you can also make a website/community forum dedicated to Indian parents.

I have my own website named www.desithai.com and over there in discussion forum i have kept a forum separately for Indian Parenting..
but not much members post topics there as its a new website.
I have joined parenting groups and communities in facebook too.

As a working women how do you manage time between work and family and your activities on different social networking sites. How many hours/mins in a day you give to Indian Parenting?

I get up @ 5pm everyday and finish my work in morning, make my son ready for school @ 7.00 pm. I try reaching office early so I can give time to my website..
then in lunch time and free break I do orkutting and check my website
after I reach back home I try to give whole of my time to my son

Please tell us about your kid, how old he is and how naughty he is?

my son will be 5 this month, he is a very sensible child, he is naughty only sometimes not always

What are your personal thoughts on Indian parents? You know that child upbringing in India is very different(socially, culturally) from other progressed countries like U.S and U.K, do you believe that parents of those progressed countries are more advance and active in the upbringing of the child then an average middle class Indians? Please throw some light on this issue.

I believe in individual parent upbringing, it all depends on what culture and upbringing you want to give your child, parents living in India might get all latest toys and stuff from foreign county and give free and modern beliefs to child and on the other hand family living outside India might not allow children to lead a free and modern life. They are forced to follow the culture strictly so it all depends on individual parent or family upbringing.

What are your personal thoughts on an abortion? Do you think that mother has right to decide abort her baby or not? We saw the increasing number of abortion going on everyday since the social life of an average Indian is changed and people are more career and health conscious then before.

I hate the word abortion, if god has decided to send the child to you then who are you to kill the baby, abortion is another term of murder.
if the baby is not fully developed or organs are not developed then the parents can decide to keep or not to keep but getting aborted because u didn’t want the baby is bad.

Do you think that after the success of Indian Parenting community on orkut your aim is accomplished? or do you have any more future plans for it? and what do you think about orkut.com as a social networking site?

Orkut is a very good social networking site but few people misuse it so we all have to be careful. My next aim is to make www.desithai.com a success, its also a social networking site.

All the best for it Priyanka and thanks for giving all your precious time and effort to make this interview a beautiful write up
