We are living in the world full of energy, energy which we have naturally keeps us going and electrical energy which made our lives faster than ever. But in this hunt of getting numerous energies we imbalanced the functions of nature; hence the results were unimaginably worst (not exactly unimaginable). Climate Change came as a disastrous output of our own greedy deeds. Now, it’s time to wake up from that energy dreaming sleep to realize our mistakes and act as a responsible citizen of the Planet Earth. Just a small favor of yours can make big difference for many lives. Switch off your commercial and home lights today March 27, 2010 from 8:30pm to 9:30pm local time and be the part of Earth Hour 2010.

Earth Hour is a global event held every year, it’s a small but effective step taken by millions of people to get unite, feel responsible and create awareness to save this God’s most beautiful planet Earth, which is struggling hard with the drastic climate changes. Earth Hour was first held in the year 2007 when more than 2 million homes and business in Sydney Australia turned their lights off for an hour.  That historic event was accepted in 2008 whole heartily by more than 35 countries and 50 million people, in 2009 the event went more successful when 4000 cities in 88 countries officially switched off to pledge their support for the planet. In 2010 earth hour emerged as one of the biggest global events against the climate change. Today March 27, 2010 is the Global Earth Hour, a day when people across the world will join each other with a hope to secure the future of earth and its citizens.

WWF (World Wide Fund) with 5 million supporters worldwide from more than 100 countries is the organizer of Earth Hour event.  The support is also coming from many government and non-government organizations too. The biggest help in making people aware of this important event is coming from social media platforms like Twitter, Facebook and Flickr where millions of people are joining and sharing their views about climate change and how effective we could make Earth Hour 2010.

This online awareness through social media platform is praise worthy effort by WWF and other supportive organizations and individuals. Google has their commitment for this day too; Google engineers are working to develop technology that will make carbon-free electricity, an alternative to electricity generated from coal.
