Zuckerberg Resolving Facebook Privacy Issue

by Aditya Joshi on May 24, 2010

Mark Zuckerberg CEO of facebook wrote in a column of Washington Post newspaper that very soon some changes will be made to user’s privacy options which will be simpler and easy to control.

Last month few changes were made which were unacceptable to common and powerful men like few senators of U.S. including Charles Schumer. Lot was said over net and press, with reports filing to FTC for taking appropriate actions. A group of 13,500  Facebookers decided to leave the site on coming 31st May declaring it a “Quit Facebook Day”.

All these resistances have made the Developers change their mind and very soon new simple and better privacy options will be rolled out.

Zuckerberg admits that they have made some mistakes in past and now wants to rectify them. In his own words: “we’ve made a bunch of mistakes”

“Sometimes we move too fast – and after listening to recent concerns, we’re responding,”

“The biggest message we have heard recently is that people want easier control over their information.

“Simply put, many of you thought our controls were too complex. Our intention was to give you lots of granular controls; but that may not have been what many of you wanted. We just missed the mark,”

An exact date is not given now but he succeeds in convincing people that wheels are in motion for good, things will  restore to normalcy soon.

Let us hope that new changes may not create new problems.
